Dr Rebeca T van Dorsten

Dr Rebecca van Dorsten obtained her Masters degree at the Erasmus MC university of Rotterdam in the Netherlands focused on in "wnt signalling in Embryonal cancers". She moved to South Africa and obtained her PhD in the lab of Lynn Morris and Penny Moore titled "Exploring the potential of engineered antibodies to prevent HIV cell-free and cell-cell transmission". She is currently a joint Postdoctoral Fellow in the AGTRU unit at Witwatersrand University and AIRU unit at the NICD as part of RUBIC, where she is investigating the potential of the Cl fungal expression system to express therapeutic proteins and protein sub-unit vaccines.
