Lesley Scott

Dr Scott an associate professor and Head of Research and Development in the Wits Diagnostic Innovation Hub within the Faculty of Health Science at Wits. Lesley holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine and has >20 years' experience in laboratory medicine. She is passionate about designing, developing and evaluating innovative and affordable diagnostics to advance public health, with a particular focus on HIV, T B, and COVID-19. Lesley is also the inventor of the SmartSpot technology used in N47 countries to ensure quality of molecular TB tests.
