Jeremy Nel

Dr Nel obtained his medical degree from UCT in 2006, then specialized as a physician and then an infectious diseases specialist in 2016. He obtained a Tropical Medicine & Hygiene diploma from the Royal College of Physicians and did a fellowship in transplant infectious diseases at the University of North Carolina in USA. He is currently academic head of infectious diseases at Wits university and Helen Joseph Hospital, and president of the Infectious Diseases Society of South Africa.
